What is Ergo?
You’ve probably heard of the term “ergonomics”. Technical definitions aside, ergonomics is the science concerned with the relationship of a person, the task, and the processes and tools they use in an environment. Finding the right balance between these system elements helps optimize worker comfort and productivity.
Whether an individual works from a computer, or spends their shift handling boxes in a distribution facility, excessive forces and non-neutral postures and positioning can increase the risk of a worker developing a repetitive strain injury (RSI).
Optimal ergonomics improves worker safety, comfort, productivity, and morale.
Optimal ergonomics reduces risk of OSHA-specific ergonomics risk factors and citations, employer exposure to safety-related legal action, employee absenteeism, and workers’ compensation and insurance premiums.
